What Do Parish Neighbors Do?
Parish Neighbors is a caring, fun, and spiritual ministry available to every household in the parish. Each Parish Neighborhood is made up of groups of individuals and families of all ages and walks of life wo live near each other.
The Parish Neighbors ministry is a great way to meet other parishioners and grow in faith together through opportunities to socialize, pray, and serve one another. The choice of how and when to participate is totally up to you. There is no fixed time commitment required.
Each neighborhood decides what they will do and how and when they will gather. Here are some examples.- Share names and phone numbers with each other
- Create a phone tree or text tree to call and check on each other from time to time
- Prepare and deliver meals to a family with a newbaby, someone who’s sick, grieving or incapacitated
- Take someone to church that needs a ride
- Share recommendations for contractors and suppliers (plumbers, roofers, electricians, etc.)
- Get together for coffee and dessert
- Volunteer together for a project
- Attend a church gathering together - one or our Parish Neighborhood Socials, the Lentenmeal, the Seder meal, or the Prime Rib Dinner
